World Cup

Rugby World Cup is going on now all over New Zealand, it's been a lot of fun. Here is a the big screen they set up down on the water front.

And during half-time, they have bands play...pretty sweet set-up.

My mate Hamish, took me out surfing today at Lyall Bay. We've been trying to go for about...all of tintin, and today the waves and the sun, and most importantly, our work schedule finally cooperated. Well worth the wait.

project from a bit ago

This was a weekend project between Apes and Tintin. I wanted to build a combination of a crane, boom, and steadicam for my GoPro camera. Basically, something simple that could keep the camera pinned to one axis while moving up and down. Being simple and cheap was the goal, since it is being left in Wellington. Looking forward to building v2.0 back in the states with a better design.

Weekend off with 2 full days, so we took the ferry to Picton on the South Island for a little side trip.

New Music Toy!

I thought I could go the months I am over here without any of my instruments, I was severely mistaken.  Within the first couple weeks, I was itching for some audio action.  I picked up this little bad boy and thought I would share a little tune...ENJOY!

Polarizing Filter test

Before I left the states, I bought a cheap Polarizing filter for my 50mm lens, and here is a comparison frame.  Pretty cool results for the price, the filter basically cuts the reflection of the sky on the water, and you can see unda-wata (technical term).

Now THIS is a proper day off
